Our vineyard’s recently released 2014 Blanc de Noirs won a coveted Gold Medal at the WineGB Awards 2019, were further stunned to go on to be awarded a trophy and title for the “Best in Class in Great Britain” at a the recent award ceremony, held in Vintners Hall, London.

As a small vineyard in a thriving industry we are very proud of the recognition we are receiving for our vintage English bubbly; especially within such prestigious competitions and our own national awards. We thoroughly enjoyed being part of the celebrations at Vintner’s Hall, the spiritual home of the UK wine trade.

A total of 19 Trophies were unveiled on the day. Click here for the full list of trophy winners.

Peter Richards MW was MC for the day, with Head of Judges, Susie Barrie MW and Co-Chair, Oz Clarke presenting the trophies.

Winning a Gold Medal was pleasing enough, but to go on to and be told we have the best English Blanc de Noirs in the country at the moment is incredible when considering the highly competitive and extensive field of entrants.

For all the Alder Ridge Vineyard team, this award further cements our confidence in being able to grow exceptional quality grapes and that will remain our focus, as a smaller single estate producer who puts their emphasis on quality over quantity
