Supplier of the month: Summerdown Farm

Summerdown Mint: Aka The Peppermint People

Our supplier of the month for April is Summerdown Farm. Summerdown has been growing, harvesting, and distilling their own Black Mitcham peppermint for almost three decades from their family farm in the Hampshire countryside.

They transform this vibrant plant into an astonishingly aromatic, barrel-aged peppermint oil, which plays the starring role in their award-winning chocolates and teas (there is also a range of candles and diffusers, but unfortunately, we do not sell them in our farm shop!)

The Colman Family:

A family that has always been inspired by robust and piercing flavours! For years it was mustard, but 25 years ago they turned their tastes to mint.

It all started with a trip to America in 1995, a few cuttings of Black Mitcham peppermint, a bit of research, a tennis court-sized plot, and a LOT of patience.

Skip forward to today, and they now grow over 100 acres and produce the world's purest peppermint oil.
