Real Bakers of the month!

Real Bakers of the Month!

Real Bread Week falls in February, so instead of celebrating one supplier this month, we are celebrating all the Real Bakers we have the honour of working with here at Cobbs.

What is Real Bread Week?

This year Real Bread Week runs from the 17th to the 25th of February. It is the international celebration of real bread and the people who make it rise!

Bread is very much an everyday favourite! Whether popping it in the toaster and slathering it with butter and jam in the morning or adding a tasty filling between two slices for a lunchtime sarnie, it is a staple food for most households.

But we're not just talking about any old loaf of bread. We are talking about Real Bread. Real bread that has been made without using processing aids or additives.

Cue, our fantastic Real Bakers!

Real Bread at Cobbs

Hobbs House Bakery

This family-run bakery has over five generations of baking experience and is now bringing up the sixth generation of aspiring bakers. They believe that handmade bread should be available to everyone.

Available daily at Cobbs Englefield, Hungerford, and Winchester.

Hoxton Bakehouse

Hoxton has had a clear vision since opening their bakehouse in Hampshire in 2014 - to make better bread accessible to as many people as possible. Their commitment to making a consistent and honest loaf of bread starts with their sourdough culture.

Available every Saturday at Cobbs Englefield, Hungerford, and Winchester.

Hethertons Bakery

A local family-run, traditional craft bakery in Newbury. They freshly make all their loaves by hand and use locally grown and milled flour and other locally sourced ingredients. They are passionate about making high-quality bread!

Available daily at Cobbs Englefield.

La Parisienne

A family-run bakery with roots in France. They produce a fine range of sourdough bread, delicious pastries and savouries using locally milled flour and other local ingredients where possible.

Available daily at Cobbs at The Farm, Stratford.

A special 10% saving to celebrate!

Real Bread Week has two goals. The first is to encourage people to try and make their own, and the second is to encourage people to buy Real Bread from independent and local bakeries.

So, this Real Bread Week (17th to 25th February 2024) we are offering 10% off ALL REAL BREAD in our farm shop. Please see instore for more details.

There are so many benefits to choosing 'real bread' over an industrial loaf! Not only is it fresher and additive-free, but there are social and economic benefits to supporting a local bakery too!

Pop in and pick up a REAL loaf from us this month to support our Real Bakers.
