Supplier of the month: Cobbs Honey

This month, our local supplier of the month is non-other than our very own Honey. Made by bees on Cobbs Farm in Hungerford, this deliciously sweet product has so many wonderful health benefits too.

Honey contains antioxidant, antibacterial, and antimicrobial properties that fight against the virus and treats the cold and its underlying symptoms. It also helps to soothe a sore or scratchy throat naturally and boosts the immune system when you are feeling under the weather. Not to mention the fact it helps fight any pollen-related allergies as well.

The Bees

Cobbs Farm is the home to nearly 1,000,000 resident honey bees. They arrived on the farm back in Spring 2022, and very impressively, produced a fantastic 300kg of honey from the first spring crop.

The bees and their hives are looked after by our bee-keeper Rob. Rob is also the Chair of the Bee Farmers Association, so as you can imagine when it comes to bees, he really knows his stuff!

During the summer, the bees enjoy the wildflower mixes on the farm and the vines on Alder Ridge vineyard, and in the spring, they also like the pollen from the asparagus plants - a great source of protein for the bees to help them develop their colony.

Special offer

This January, enjoy two jars of Cobbs Honey for £10 (normally £6.99 each) until the end of the month.

With an offer like this, it's hard to resist! So why not pop in and pick up a jar or two of (in our opinion) the most delicious Berkshire honey?

How to enjoy…

Excellent on toast, in porridge, with yoghurt, on pancakes, in marinades, with fruit, in hot drinks… the list for it's use is endless!
